Manager’s Handbook: Mellissa Ruryk
Every year (or every other year), SIG volunteers come and go. How do you preserve the knowledge of the ones who leave? How do you get newcomers up to speed quickly and doing things the way your chapter/community has worked out as a best practice? A Community manual goes a long way to providing continuity and consistency in making these transitions smooth and efficient. Mellissa will show off the IDL SIG’s Community manual’s Table of Contents and lead a discussion of which items should be “written in stone” and where it’s better to just “wing it.”
